About me

I’m an Associate Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Plymouth.

Over the years, my work has centred around the prevention of mass atrocities such as genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity. I focus on the political, legal, and ethical issues surrounding those - and especially on the Responsibility to Protect (RtoP), the UN human rights system, and international criminal justice mechanisms.

I have a PhD in International Politics, an MA in International Relations, and a BSc (Hons) in International Relations from the University of Plymouth.

Research areas

In addition to those listed above, my research interests include North Korean human rights, UK and EU foreign policy, and Constructivist and English School IR theory.
